Elliott Erwitt

This photograph was taken in Holland, Amsterdam 1972 by Elliott Erwitt. The reason why I took particular interest to this photograph is because it made me laugh. The large pointing hand towards the man creates an ironic impression as the man is picking his nose in the photo. However, the large hand is pointing to 'INGANG ON DE HOEK' which means 'ENTRANCE AROUND THE CORNER'. The photographs contrasting black and white colours exaggerate the shadows in the window and the male's figure against the light floor colour and darker background.
